Welcome to Jemma Jones Bowen.
I am a qualified Bowen Therapist with over 10 years' experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist.
I was introduced to The Bowen Fascial Release Technique in 2007 when I was successfully treated for IBS symptoms which had not responded to any other medical or alternative therapy intervention. I qualified with the European College of Bowen Studies in 2008 and haven't looked back! I have now chosen to focus solely on the Bowen Fascial Release Technique but am able to call upon all my physio experience and training to guide my treatments.
I am committed to keeping my Bowen skills and qualifications as up to date as possible and regularly attend courses at the ECBS, both broadening and deepening my knowledge.
I am a firm believer that clients can help themselves to ensure they come to see me for the fewest possible treatments.
I look forward to hearing from you.
My background & experience
I graduated from Edinburgh University in 1996 with an Honours degree in Human Anatomy. I then graduated from Brighton University in 2001 with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy.
I worked for 10 years as a Chartered Physiotherapist, first in the NHS at The Bristol Royal Infirmary and Guy's and St. Thomas', London and latterly in the private sector at King Edward VII's, Marylebone, London, where I also ran an Outpatient Women's Health and Bowen Clinic alongside my inpatient work until leaving the hospital in 2011 to have a family. During this time, I worked in a variety of areas including Stroke Rehabilitation, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Cardiac and General Intensive Care, Respiratory, Amputees, Care of the Elderley, Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics, Outpatients, specialising in Women's Health Outpatients, treating ante and post natal musculoskeletal problems including Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), post partum complications (for example 3rd Degree Tears) and Incontinence patients.
We have recently moved to Devon and are slowly increasing our “small holding” of 2 dogs, 2 guinea pigs and 3 bantams! I have grown up with horses and I am hoping to do some voluntary work for the RDA.
