What is Bowen Therapy?
Bowen therapy is a gentle, holistic hands-on therapy which prompts the body to heal itself. Moves are applied to specific areas over the whole body using fingers and thumbs in rolling movements.
Bowen does not force the body to change, there is no adjustment or manipulation, rather it is a catalyst - facilitating the body to recognise and make necessary changes to bring it back into balance (homeostasis).
Bowen is suitable for all ages, from babies to adults. Clients can be treated through loose clothing or directly on the skin whilst lying down, although work can also be carried out seated in a chair, whichever is most comfortable.
It is for everyone, with any symptom, of any age and can help all areas, such as:
Physical Pain Issues
Illnesses & Disorders
Mental Health Issues
Meet Jemma Jones
Hello, I am Jemma and I specialise in the Bowen Technique.
I have over 20 years experience in body work. I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2001 and worked for 11 years in both NHS and private acute hospitals. I qualified as a Bowen Therapist in 2008 and have run my own Bowen practice since then.
I now help people of all ages, from babies to the elderly who present a wide variety of physical and mental symptoms.
"Jemma had a wonderful, warm and calm manner with my 3 year old. She put her at ease and I was amazed at how relaxed my daughter became during treatment. I am so please with the results. I can't recommend Jemma more highly."
